When you feel stuck or stagnant, take a moment to reconnect with the elements around you. Step outside, breathe in the wind, and feel the earth beneath your feet. This morning, I chose to light a candle to welcome in my day. As I focused on the flame, it reminded me that my flame is still burning, no matter how much negativity tries to snuff it out. A simple cup of coffee warmly cupped in my hands as I gaze out the window to the distant field where the deer stand sentry in the morning light. There is still snow on the ground but the promise of spring is in the air as the songbirds return and bless us with their sweet music.
This week as I connected to my people on social media, I came across a video where a lovely natural lady used the earth to cradle her liquid wax so that when it solidified, it actually became a grounding candle. I feel like that embodies what this life is about. Letting the earth embrace us as we reach back to it to complete the cycle of relationship. In order to keep our fire burning, we must nestle into the earth to keep our roots stable.
