Reading Now

March Blog.png

After I bought this beautiful book I was afraid to read it for a while, in case the story ruined the beauty on the outside.  As it turns out, the story is as well done as the artistic outside.  I am excited to finish it and looking forward to the second one coming in July of 2026.

Years ago, I was gifted the Malabar Rose book, which is the second in the series.  I loved it so much that I read the first one and have kept on reading.  This is another good one and I will be reading the rest of the series and looking forward to the one coming out in April 2026.

Prototype 2

After I unexpectedly found myself without a day job, I suddenly had more opportunity to start projects.  One day I was complaining about how my bras never seem to fit or support and it occurred to me that as an experienced seamstress I could make my own. So here I am with a prototype finished and another with alterations in process.

This version has padded cups and a terry cloth lining but it's still not quite how I want it.  Perhaps in the next one I will get all the details worked out but if not, I will keep working till I get it.

My ice rink planned on putting on The Nutcracker for the winter show.  I made an offer to help as a seamstress since I wasn't skating in the show.  This is what I got assigned.  Mother Ginger with a steel frame for the children to be under.  I had never done full theatre costuming so this was a challenge.  It turned out beautifully with over 10 yards of fabric.  My lovely friend carried that steel frame like it was featherlight and she skated wonderfully with it and the children.

The Voice Behind
the Thoughts

Were you expecting someone else, someone that looks like an earth goddess with long flowing hair and no makeup, with glowing skin and wild style?  To be fair, this is a Halloween photo, and I don't wear makeup every day, but I do love to change up my appearance.  You never know what look I will be sporting.  Make-up and fashion are all forms of art.  Little Peace of Me is also a form of my art, an outward expression of my special inner life put into something tangible and shared. It's a collection of thoughts, a digital scrapbook of experiences, and a testament to the belief that our smallest insights often hold the most profound connections. Welcome to my sanctuary of relatable narratives.

Jennifer is a United States Figure Skating and Ice Sports Industry instructor and has been skating for thirty years.  During that time she has worked in the book industry for more than ten years.  She is an accomplished seamstress and an emotional first soprano singer.  She adores all things aviation and enjoys nature and wildlife which she incorporates into her art.  But, what she is most proud of is the battle she has fought in healing from abuse and recognizing autism as an acceptable part of life.  It has been a hard journey, but one worth the fight.
